Canvas & Dune

Canvas & Dune is a design-driven cultural destination in Palm Springs, conceived as a desert sanctuary where art, architecture, and atmosphere merge into a single immersive experience. The project transforms the desert into a 'living canvas' through a dual-orientation spatial strategy: by day, the front opens into a sunlit gallery and café; by night, the rear activates as an intimate jazz bar with live music and ambient lighting. A rotating artist collaboration program continuously refreshes the space — for this concept, Julian Opie's bold, minimalist visual language anchors the gallery, reinforcing the connection between art, space, and movement. Canvas & Dune proposes a new model for cultural space — time-responsive, directionally activated, and continuously evolving through artistic collaboration.
